On August, 12, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., emergency services responded to a structure fire on Water Street that spread to a neighbouring property on College Street in Kitchener.

Damage is estimated at $100K–$200K. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

❌ No new open burn permits will be issued or approved.

Unauthorized fires can create serious safety risks to Kitchener residents and may result in fines and other charges under City by-law and the Ontario Fire Code.
