Representing the men and women of the KFD and Protecting the Community Of Kitchener, Ontario
This morning, members of Kitchener Firefighters 457 Waterloo Regional Police and City of Kitchener council gathered to remember.
We remember how the world changed 25 years ago, in New York City, when two planes flew into the World Trade Centre Buildings, in one of the greatest acts of terror ever seen in United States history.
Over 2700 people, including 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD Police Officers, and 37 Port Authority Officers paid the ultimate sacrifice when the towers collapsed.
184 people died in the attack on the Pentagon and 40 more in the heroic acts performed on Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pensilvania.
In a time where division is easy, and all so common, we remember what the world can be when people come together for the great good, to help those we do not know and lift them out of the darkness.

On June 22nd 2026, Kitchener Firefighters 457 hosted its 10th annual golf charity tournament raising $28,562.
This week, our members stopped by to Food4Kids Waterloo Region to donated $14,281 of our proceeds with the remainder to be present later to our other charitable organization.
